South Africa Wins Its Last League Game Against Australia

In the league matches of the cricket world cup 2019 held at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, on 6th July 2019 the South African team gave more than 100% to make up for their past mistakes by beating the former world champion Australia by 10 runs.

Winning the toss and batting first the South African Skipper Du Plessis made a century and Van Der Dussen made a good 95 to give their team a good start. Van Der Dussen should be given the credit for the patience and composure that he displayed during the game. The South African team has been struggling throughout the world cup matches to give a good start to the game and make it a success. They made every possible effort in this match and one could see their efforts bearing fruit in the end. Rabada is the bowler who had struggled a lot in this world cup and his struggle became successful when he took three wickets against Australia and gave only 56 runs. These wickets were the most crucial wickets of the match. Though in other matches the South African team failed to play when they were under pressure, in this particular match they gave a reasonable target to the Australians and managed to play an excellent game by the end of the match. According to the statistics of the ICC world Cup Matches since 1992 it is the first win of South Africa over Australia. The win of the Proteas was a result of better game and game strategy. Their bowlers bowled well and gave minimum runs as extras. The field placing was so accurate that there was no chance of misfields.

In reply to the tremendous innings played by South Africa the Australian batsmen also tried to stay on the crease for long and David Warner made 122 of 117 balls and AT Carey supported him with his 85 runs.
The South African bowlers did an amazing job by striking the Australian players again and again and curtailing the run rate. They refrained from bowling extras and gave only 7 extras. There is one more quality in the Proteas and that is their accurate field placing that made taking catches much easier. Their excellent fielding helped them win the game.

We hope all the best for both the teams for their future games and hope to see them in the world cup finals in the years to come.
