Fakhar Zaman Replaces Shaun Marsh In Glamorgan County Cricket Club Team

The opener batsman of Pakistan cricket team Fakher Zaman has signed an agreement with one of the top eighteen first class county clubs that operates within the domestic cricket structure of England. He has signed the agreement for the first half of their campaign known as Vitality Blast. He has joined the county to replace the injured player Shaun Marsh.

Shaun Marsh had to leave the closing stage matches of world cup 2019 due to a fractured forearm. He was injured during the net practice while facing Pat Cummins. According to the updates coming from the club they are hopeful that Fakher Zaman will be available for the last six group matches.

Faker Zaman was not able to perform in the world cup to the best of his ability and had made only 186 runs in eight innings. He was able to make only one 50 in the world cup 2019. Faker Zaman is an excellent player of the T20 format. In the PSL tournament of 2019 he was the highest scorer in the Lahore Qalanders team when the other members of the team were not performing well.

It will be the first time that Zaman is getting a chance to play the county cricket. He did sign with Somerset back in 2017 but could not paly as PCB called him back to Pakistan for a training camp just a day before he was to leave for UK.

The Glamorgan cricket club will be starting its blast Campaign with just one overseas player as the other players who signed for the county game include Mitchell Marsh a member of 25-man preliminary squad prepared for the Ashes. Colin Ingram will join the others on a Kolpak deal as a skipper.

The Champions Trophy tournament of 2017 was the debut match series for Fakher Zaman. In the semi-final match of that innings Fakher Zaman made 57 of 58 balls to make a partnership of 118 runs. It was a great victory for Pakistan when Fakher Zaman made a century against India in the final match of Champions trophy.

The director of cricket of Glamorgan’s county cricket club Mark Wallace, said:“ It is disappointing to lose Shaun Marsh before the start of the competition but to secure the services of Fakher on short notice is great news for the club. He is a fantastic cricketer and one of the most destructive batsmen in the world who has the history of performing in big matches.”

Glamorgan is starting its campaign on Thursday night with its first game against Somerset after which they will be travelling to Gloucestershire at Cheltenham the following afternoon.
