Australia Marches Through The Semi-Final; A Heartbreaking Defeat To England

Australia confirmed its place in the ICC cricket world cup 2019’s semi-final. The team won the match with an overall score of 64 against England.

When it came to the toss, the Australian team was unlucky because they lost the toss and chose to bat first. In spite of losing the toss, they managed to score 285 for seven wickets. Finch was the main reason for winning the match, and this is only because he got a chance to score 100. It was Finch’s second world cup tournament. He paved a smooth way for his team to win the match by his top-scoring performance.

After fighting the battle against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, England dismissed itself by scoring 221 and gave Australian team a golden chance to take over the Lord’s Stadium. The players of England bowled well.
James Vince got a hand to a jumping chance at in reverse point, and Woakes got the awful end of a minor LBW decision on DRS.

Warner likewise battled for comprehension, yet the pair in the long run settled as England’s progressions missed the mark, Mark Wood dropping 24 keeps running in three overs and Adil Rashid’s first requiring 10. With Finch and Usman Khawaja including another 50, a sum of 350 did not appear to be strange, yet it was England who tangled control of the innings, taking six for 112 in the last 18 overs. Archer had Finch gotten at fine leg after his century, Woakes turned around his previous terrible luck to take the prominent wicket of Smith just as Pat Cummins, while Mark Wood and Ben Stokes took one wicket each.

England’s luck was mainly due to Jason Roy who was a perfect fit to lead the match against Australia but alas! He didn’t make it after a long struggle. Vince was desperately waiting to increase his scores, but a swinging Yorker from the Behrendorff kicked him in. It was Behrendorff’s next delivery against the Vince. Morgan’s departure was increasingly blasé, taking on a short one however only helping it round to fine leg where Pat Cummins readily acknowledged it.

Jonny Bairstow alluded to a fightback, sorting out 27 with five limits, however, following his skipper’s mistake in judgment, another short ball, and an un-coordinated draw resulted in another catch for Cummins.

Stokes started another solitary hand, a troubled attempt that included eight fours and two sixes off Glenn Maxwell, and pushed on in the wake of accepting treatment on the two legs. He was 6th out of 177, extensively tidied up by a generous player named Starc Yorker. However, the all-rounder was quickly proved to be England’s most constant player.

Morgan tried a lot to remain positive, and his last words in the Lord Stadium were “Our fate is in our own hands in the next two games we play.”

“Everything we need to turn it around is quite simple; it’s the basics of the game that have let us down the last couple of games.”

He added more to his conversation: “I thought a lot of today we were outplayed. Aaron Finch played well and capitalized on the start he got.”

A report confirmed by PA told that “The difficulty for England is that Australia’s driving seamers still have such a large number of overs to bowl. England has numerous challenges – that is only one of them. Stoinis has worked superbly today and keeps on binding England, enforcing them into a silly single that would have sent Woakes back to the Pavilion. Smith hit the stumps with his toss. Fortunately for England, he missed by an inch. Thus, the match quickly slipped from England’s hands.
