South Africa Kicked out of The Lord Stadium by Pakistan – Match Review

Cricket is known as one of the most favorite and popular game around the world. Cricket fans love to play and watch cricket at their home, stadiums and local playgrounds. Nowadays, Cricket is even more popular as ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is trending around the globe. You all know that the Wales and England are hosting ICC Cricket World Cup from May 30th to July 14th, 2019. All the matches are played as One Day International which has 50 overs.

After a very depressing game played by the players of Pakistan against India, they again came up with great enthusiasm and passion for winning. So here’s the good news, Pakistan knocked out the tough team of South Africa by 49 runs. Pakistan got a huge success in the Lords Stadium and scored 308 runs for seven wickets. The match got really interesting when Haris Sohail drafted in the Lords Stadium as a replacement of Shoaib Malik. He is the one who gave the great gift of 89 runs to the team of Pakistan. The partnership between Haris and Babar Azam proved to be an excellent opportunity for team Pakistan. Haris truly deserves the appreciation of winning by striking nine fours and three sixes as his innings also supported the 23 runs scored by Imad Wasim. His exceptional performance led Pakistan to a shining victory.

Before this particular match South Africa had never been challenged with such a tough target of 300 plus score in any ICC world cup, and of course, this game was undoubtedly testing for them. The famous batsman of South Africa, Hashim Amla was knocked out by Mohammad Amir and only got a chance to score 38 in the first ten overs. As the game heated up, Quinton De Kock returned to the Pavilion after scoring 47 runs. His shot got caught at the boundary by Imam-ul-Haq. Another passionate player Du Plessis fell for 63 when Mohammad Amir’s slow ball blustered high in the air, and it proved to be a piece of cake for the captain of Pakistan “Sarfaraz” to catch the ball.

South Africa’s luck further deteriorated when Rassie Van der Dussen was knocked out at 36 by giving Mohammad Hafeez a simple catch. Shadab allowed Mohammad Amir to push the South African team towards the end of the game. The only turning point in the match was the incredible performance given by Haris Sohail. He proved himself as a lucky charm for the Pakistani team. We cannot overlook the excellent bowling effort of Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, and Shaheen Afridi. The captain of Pakistan appreciated his side and referred Haris Sohail as a fantastic player.

Sarfaraz also mentioned his other team members: “It was a complete group performance. We attempted a couple of combination, which is the reason Haris Sohail wasn’t in the group; however, he took his risk today. At times it’s useful for the group when we realize we need to win. We need to work more enthusiastically on our fielding. We dropped such a large number of catches today, yet with the bat and ball it was an incredible execution.”

The Man of the Match also added his kind words in favor of his team by mentioning that “It’s hard to be out of the group, yet I realized I could take my risk when it was given to me and do well for Pakistan. I needed to formulate a good partnership with Babar Azam – it was difficult, yet we progressed admirably.”
